Rob was brought up in Central England, and being fascinated
by Art and Artdeco, went to university and gained a degree
in Sculpture

Since then he has continued carving usually in stone,
and sometimes forming sculptures in metal and other media

Rob has had large local government commissions in stone,
and also smaller ones on request
His commissions include
                                       An AJS mototcycle and rider-Safeway memorial
                                       European Canoe Trophy
                                       Royal Television Drama Award
Rob has also designed and created the body for new speedway bike
for the millenium, as seen recently on SKY TV

He has continued developing his sculpture,
exhibiting his work along with other artists
            Original modern abstract sculpture and stone carving for home and garden
The work I create evolves from architecture and the human form combined
to create a final piece.
Each final work has around 20-30 sketches before the work is carved.
The lines are taken from buildings of all periods, these are then juxtaposed
over life drawings, adding a line here and taking one away there.
The result is the beginning for a carving.
So each item of work becomes a library of lines,
which are not masculine or feminine but asexual....................Rob Bower
