	Form and surface in my work is inspired by many different sources but the landscape is especially influential, particularly coastal and derelict lanscapes I take many photographs of these areas and often find that it's just as inspirational looking close up at detail as it is to look at a distance The near and far can combine to give an interesting and powerful sense of scale in a piece of work I aim to evoke the feeling and spirit of the places I have visited rather than give direct references to these places    .........................Craig Underhill
